"MDC Matching Funds Grant Awarded"
The WCFPD was recently awarded a matching funds grant from the Missouri Department of Conservation. The Department has purchased and installed a new light bar, siren, and loudspeaker on it's wildland fire attack unit.(pictured above) We will also be receiving 10 sets of Nomex Wildland Fire Suits. These lightweight suits allow firefighters to maneuver in the extremely hot, fast paced environment of a wildland fire, reducing a firefighters risk of injury.

Be he paid or volunteer, when a fire fighter assumes that duty
he is no longer a private citizen
upon him rests the tremendous responsibility of safeguarding
the lives and property of every member of the community
regardless of race, color or creed
and he who fails to grasp this important truth
has no place in the fire service
